Opus 17 Honoring our Vision Creating our Future “First a dream, then a wish, and now a reality” Countdown to Dedication of Opus 17 Opus 17 arrived at The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration on Sunday July 12, 2009 in a very large semi truck. The craftsmen that built the organ also began arriving and we all got together for a nice dinner and fellowship. On Monday morning, we went to Transfiguration and during the day, there were over 125 parishioners helping to unload our new organ. In Mother Joy’s Sermon today (7/19/2009), she succinctly summed up what this week and especially Monday has been all about. She said “the spirit of this church was manifested in a different way as so many people joined together as our new organ arrived in what seemed to be a million pieces. People worked together lifting, carrying, assembling, serving meals. That work could not have been done by individuals. It takes members of a household of God shepherding each other for the greater good when the going gets tough.” We are going to provide day by day progress of erecting the case, installing the pipes and periodic updates during the voicing.
