Opus 17
Opus 17
The truck is here and it is full of pipes from very small to very big of metal and wood. We have a smaller crew today due to the delicate nature of this part of the move. All of the pipes have been unloaded and stored upstairs in our new building. The truck is being loaded to take much of the initial setup materials back to Chattanooga. The case is very close to being finished except for some gorgeous carvings that have yet to be installed. The beautiful painting in the center of the organ is installed and the person gilding our pipes has started. Only the mouths of those pipes that are on the facade will be gilded. Note the 16 foot pipes that are being unwrapped as they are some of the largest pipes in the organ. The penny on the mouth of the pipe will give you the perspective of just how big they are.
