A little history
Our property is named after Long Reach the 1769 Updegraff settlement near our home in north central Pennsylvania.
They made a long reach up the Susquehanna River with canoes of fruit trees to settle in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in the mid-eighteenth century. They were among the founding families and became active in the Underground Railroad. (See PBS presentation Follow the North Star)
We are putting down new roots in Eleuthera, balancing careers and leisure. We bought Long Reach to be a family gathering place, and to make it affordable we are sharing it with all of you.
A Caribbean vacation is a long reach for most families, as it is for us. We appreciate your investment in your dream vacation. We will do our best to make your stay in our home comfortable. Our hope is that you have wonderful vacation and care for our home as you would your own.
Long Reach is even more affordable when rented as a complex or for extended periods of time. Accommodating family groups is our niche. We are a family and understand how important vacations are.
