My Road Trip

Hurray, I just finished another run and I did week four as a fartlek! A what you might ask? Those of you who have been running for a while already know that a fartlek is a swedish word for a type of training where you run at a reduced pace for an interval, then speed up for a short time before returning to your reduced pace. Fartleking is very similar to what we have been doing during the first few weeks of the Couch to 5K routine.

The big difference for me today, I ran every bit of week four! I started at a very slow run for 5 minutes, the usual warm-up run, then speed up my pace for the first three minutes and so on through the entire workout. I have to say the last five minutes where a real push, but I got through it. So what does it mean? Not much, but I did get a 5K run in and my time was 30 minutes which I think is great. It also means I am catching up fast to where I was before the surgery.

I want to thank everyone for the nice emails and comments. They really mean a lot.
