iTunes 7.1 was crap. Any time core 2 goes to 100% busy (on the MBP), audio and video stops. Watching an already downloaded video podcast while downloading other podcasts results in more or less continuous stutter.

 

iTunes 7.1.1 is even more crap. Any time you mouse over the video window, the resolution drops, and the “slider bar” now has a black (non-transparent) background, and a visable border. All the problems noted with 7.1 still appear to be present.

 

There doesn’t appear to be any way to reject applied updates on OS X. But the Idiot Savant at the Apple store was nice enough to burn a copy of 7.0 on CDR for me, so I plan on putting that on. I will report more here once I see what 7.0 looks like again.
