Cynon v Nelson
Playing their opponents for the second time this season in very cold weather conditions. But this didnt stop their performance and team effort coming away deserved winners leaving the score 7 tries to 1. Cynon scorers were Connor Hayman 4, Lloyd Dennett 2 and Garrin Williams 1.
Cynon v Ystrad Rhondda
In this re-arranged fixture Cynon were up against some very strong opponents, but they battled on giving their all with some lovely passing and excellent defence. Both teams coming away with 3 - 3 score, try scorers were Lewis Harris 1, Lloyd Dennett 1 and Garrin Williams 1.
Cynon v Dowlais
Playing home at y parc again in wintry conditions these boys still played their hearts out with lots of defence work and many points on the score board. Cynon came away winners by 12 tries to 1, scorers were Lloyd Dennett 5, Connor Dixon 3, Cameron Fisher 2, John-Paul 1 and Euan Cussack 1.
Cynon v Ystrad Mynach
Playing home again at y parc these boys played superb stopping the opposition scoring at all. They are all working really hard as a team and improving their rugby skills, resulting in them scoring 9 tries to 0. Try scorers were Lloyd Dennett 5, Connor Dixon 2, Connor Hayman 1 and Euan Cussack 1.
Cynon v Rhymney Cardiff
At y parc cynon's u9's were up against a weighty pack, but they held their own defending as best they could leaving themselves and their opponents with a 1-1 draw, cynon's only try scorer was Connor Hayman.
Cynon v Aberdare
Playing Aberdare for the fourth time this season at y parc, cynon were excellent, tackling was tremendous and some lovely passing by these young boys all giving 100% commitment in this game today again making them the winners with 8 tries to 1 being achieved, scorers were Connor Dixon 4, Lloyd Dennett 2, Cameron 1 and Josh Phillips 1.
Cynon v Llantrisant
A one sided game in which Cynon dominated, reflecting the score, Cynon winning by 17 tries to 1.
Cynon scorers were Connor Dixon 4, Lloyd Dennett 4, Josh Phillips 3, Garrin Williams 2, Cameron Fisher 2, Lois Morgan 1and John- Paul 1.
Cynon v Aberdare
In this local derby both teams playing some excellent rugby, Cynon came out deserved winners making the score 4 tries to 2. Cynon scorers were Garrin Williams 2 and Jack Fear 2.
Cynon U9's v Bargoed U9's
In this very physical contest at y parc Abercynon, cynon youngsters came out deserved winners playing with 100% team effort, starting to play some outstanding rugby making them a force to be reckoned with. Cynon's scorers were Lloyd Dennett 3, Connor Dixon 2, Jack Fear 1 and Garrin Williams 1 making the final score cynon 7 tries to 0.
Cynon v Tredegar
Cynon travelled away to Tredegar and came away worthy winners, excellent defence work and some great passing leading to some superb tries being scored. Try scorers were Connor Dixon 4, Lloyd Dennett 2, John- Paul 2, Lewis Harris 1, Garrin Williams1 and Josh Phillips1.
Cynon v Hirwaun
Again Cynon travelled away in a local derby, playing really well, defence work yet again superb which reflected on score Cynon winning 8 tries to nil. Cynon's scorers were Lioyd Dennett 3, Josh Phillips2, Garrin Williams 2 and Jack Fear 1.
Abercynon u9's v Merthyr Tournament
Our first game was against Merthyr all boys played well making some tremendous tackles for our first game of the season, we finished up beating the opponents 6 tries to 1 with Lloyd Dennett scoring five of them and Josh Phillips scoring the remaining try.
Our second game was against Nelson winning 3 tries to none again some outstanding tackling and passing was made making us the winners of our second game of tournament.
We then went on to play our third game against Brecon in which we lost 1 try to 3, this being our hardest game so far due to opponents being very physical and a very good rugby team. Cynon's only try came from Lloyd Dennett.
Our final game was against Dowlais boys were tired now and dissappointed after their loss but proved how good players they are by beating Dowlais 4 tries to 2 making us runners up. Cynon's try scorers were Cameron Fisher 2, Jack Fear 1 and Lois Morgan 1.
Abercynon u9's v Nelson
Played away to Nelson came away deserved winners 4 tries to nil. Excellent defence stopping the opposition crossing the line every player that played gave 100% committment well done team. Cynon's scorers were Lloyd Dennett 3, Garrin Williams 1 and Connor Hayman 1.
Abercynon u9's v RTB Ebbw Vale
In this re-arranged fixture Cynon came up against good opposition from the Gwent valley but yet again proved how formidable they are by beating them 4 tries to nil, once again some excellent defence and starting to put some nice passing together and scoring some great tries. Cynon's scorers were Lloyd Dennett 3 and Josh Phillips 1.
Under 9's Pontypridd 35 - Cynon 5
Although Cynon lost they did play very well and did plent of good tackling, However Ponty proved too strong for them. The Cynon try was scored by Leon Grant. These teams played a second game which Ponty again won but by a slightly narrower margin at 25 - 0.
Under 9's Cynon 20 - Rhymney 5
On a bitterly cold day Cynon faced an early set back by conceeding a try in the first minute of the game. However,they soon rallied to redress the balance, Ross Williams made a penetrating run but was stopped just short of the Rhumney line but good support play from Abercynon saw Leon Grant go over to even the scores. Cynon then started to dominate in the tackle area, providing good ball to the backs allowing Rhys Davies to cross over for Cynon to take the lead.
From a quick tap Callum James showed great skill and agility with a wonderful run from the half way line to score Cynon's third try. Mounting pressure from Cynon in the second half saw them win more posession and this was turned into points when from the back of a ruck Leon Grant stormed up the blind side to score his second try of the game and sealing the victory for Cynon.

Under 9's Cynon 20 - Merthyr 5
A great win for Cynon in this Heart of Wales Cup game against a strong Merthyr opposition. Cracking tries from Nye Walker, Harry Landeg and 2 from Leon Grant.
