Abercynon Under 7's travelled to Pontypridd for their first game of the season and despite losing 7 tries to 5 it was a good display of rugby. The game was played in great spirit with both teams playing attractive rugby with excellent running and tagging. Liam Hayman and Jacob Francis scored 2 tries each with Rhys
Howells getting the other. This was a great effort with all players taking part in their first game of rugby and are now looking forward to the rest of the season.

Abercynon 7s 25 Rhymney 7s 30

Today Abercynon visited Rhymney and although it was a cold and windy day it didn't stop both teams from producing a fine display of tag rugby.

The games opening score came from Reagan Fear after an excellent jinking run,but Rhymney came straight back with two trys of their own,the Cynons younsters responded well and Callum Coxley went over to level the scores, Rhymney again scored two trys before Zac Breakspear broke from just inside his own half and after a superb run, off loaded to Luke Currie to go over in the corner.

The second period started the same as the first with Reagan Fear scoring after out pacing the Rhymney defence sprinting the length of the field to touch down, but Rhymney hit straight back and again nudged themselves in front, but the Cynon youngsters didn't give up and Callum Coxley put them back on level terms, when straight from the restart he jinked his way through the Rhymney defence scoring a super solo effort, just when the game looked like it would finish all square,Rhymney scored right on the final whistle to claim the victory.
