One of the most maligned and misunderstood subjects of all time is that of baptism. The necessity of being baptized, the subjects of baptism and the effects achieved by it, are areas of confusion to many. However, once the nature of this ordinance is clarified by Scripture, disordered thinking concerning it will be traced to the Christian's adversary, the devil. It is clear that he has extended himself to cloud this subject, knowing that an understanding of it will neutralize his influence. As in all areas of kingdom life, knowing the truth concerning baptism will free one from harmful misrepresentations of it.
