The apt. is 74 square meters, plus the terrace. It is on the ground floor of a five story 1930s building. There is a private parking area and a bicycle shed. The apartment is in an excellent location of Annecy and within walking distance to the lake, the Olde Towne, shopping and many other areas. On Saturday mornings there is a market across the street.
There is a comfortable living/dining area with sofa and chairs, as well as a table which expands to comfortably seat six. There is a large cupboard for storing tableware. There are two main bedrooms, each with an armoire and bedside stands and lamps. Bedroom 1 has a nice queen size Swedish bed, longer than a lot of French beds. Bedroom 2 has two new (June ‘07) single beds. There is also a desk in bedroom 2. Bed linens are provided. A third room, which we use as a tv/office room, has a new (June ‘07) comfortable sofa bed. There is a desk and a telephone available, as well as internet software for those who wish to go on-line. There is a portable crib stored in this room for those with infants.
The kitchen is compact but well supplied. It has a refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and many other kitchen necessities. The bathroom has an enclosed shower and a single sink. Towels are provided. Adequate storage space is provided for personal items. There is a separate room for the toilet. In the hallway there is a dresser with maps, info on Annecy, and several games. The hallway closets supply beach towels, cooler, water toys, iron/ironing board, and other useful items. The walled brick terrace has a picnic table with chairs, a parasol and a BBQ. It is fenced and has a privacy guard. A cave with a washing machine is optional for three week and longer rentals.
Annecy is a beautiful city and well-known for its clear lake surrounded by mountains. The apartment is a short walk from the lake photos below, maybe five minutes.
The apartment is easily walkable from the Annecy train station. It also has a private parking lot if you are traveling by car. The drive from Geneva, Switzerland is about 40 minutes.
