The Pastor Search Process
As recommended by our C&MA District and Approved by our Governing Board
1. Compose a description/profile of RMCC for potential pastors’ consideration.
This is already in process and a preliminary profile is in place.
2. Determine when to begin the search process
The search process has begun.
3. Begin with two prayer events, including the entire congregation, committing this important search to God.
Tomasi and Jean Shelton have already led these two prayer events.
4. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of the Church using a questionnaire.
Members of the church are being asked to participate by filling out a questionnaire.
5. The Governing Board and District Superintendent will take the results of 1-5 and develop a
profile for the Search Committee.
This is being completed the week of January 11th.
1. The Governing Board and Elders will appoint a Search Committee.
Ed Wallace, Tomasi Niucavu, Carrie Zenker, Joe Gaither, Charlene Braun and Don McConnell
7. The Search Committee will narrow the search to about 3 names.

8. The Governing Board and District Superintendent will invite one person as a candidate.
Dr. Ron Mitchell has been invited.
9. During the Candidate’s visit, the congregation will have input.
Dr. Ron Mitchell visited October 2nd - October 7th
10. The Governing Board will decide yes or no on that candidate. If No, another candidate will be invited.
The Governing Board invited Dr. Ron Mitchell to be our Senior Pastor
11. Once the Governing Board decides yes on a candidate, the District Superintendent makes the appointment, and we will have our new Senior Pastor.
Dr. Ron Mitchell accepted our invitation and is expected in January 2010
