RAAViewer

This is a free program, available for Macintosh and recently for Windows, that allows viewing of labeled images of human anatomy. The labels are linked to a database that offers in-depth descriptions of the parts of anatomy. An image or series of images is stored in a folder and then accessed by the program. The user can download as many of these folders of images as desired and then access them using their own personal computer.

You might want to first download the manual, which is relatively small, to get a better understanding of the program.

The program is bundled with a basic set of axial illustrations of the human body published in Eycleshymer’s        A Cross-Section Anatomy.

Slowly, over time, additional sets of images are being labeled and posted to this web site.

See the release notes for information on newer additions and consider downloading the latest version.

What if you are away from your own computer (with its copy of RAAViewer) and all you want to do is to look up the name of some muscle in the leg that you have forgotten?

Use your iPhone or some other computer attached to the Internet. Go to the site below which has the pictures from Eycleshymer’s A Cross-Section Anatomy labeled by RAAViewer. It will often do in a pinch. Bookmark it.
