In May 2008, Professors Bryden and LeSar, along with Professor K. Bryden (Department of Music) and two graduate students, took seven undergraduate engineering students to sub-saharan Africa.  The goal was to introduce the students to appropriate technology through the use of specific on-the-ground projects. As outlined in these pages, the course was successful, both in making progress on the projects and in introducing the students to life and work in the developing world.
