When We Were Small and Seeking Unicorns

Dear Sir or Madam or Little Miss... even Mister,

When you were small, I am sure you thought of unicorns.  You played with them in forests or on rivers...thinking of evil and good and all that would come between you and the unicorns and maybe the unicorn world.  You made swords from cardboard and trick mazes from boxes, fighting like Cowboys and Indians or Princesses and Evil Queens.  In your surreality nothing was definitively real or unreal.  Everything was blended into a dream.  Sometimes the real world would wash away and you would see that life was so much more simple and happy without the real world messes.  You would turn away boxes and shells and trinkets of what could be important further down the road.   And, when you became older, you would find these trinket messes underneath your already tread past.

This is the story of a past dug up and this is the story of why  I always sought unicorns when I was small.
