This delightful children’s animation was broadcast of Channel 4 at Christmas 1991 (repeated at Christmas 1993)... I remember that my wife, Jude, was pregnant with our 4th child as I attempted to hold down a full-time job as a computer systems’ programmer and complete this demanding project. I was given notes of the length of scenes to the nearest 1/10th of a second and it all had to fit.

It gave me a chance to work with Ralph McTell, who features singing about 1/2 way through. His beautiful, sonorous voice suited it perfectly and he was a nice guy too.

It also features the excellent Paul Burgess on fiddle. The narration is by Ivor Cutler, who I think gets it just about right.
