Appalachian Hoedowners
“I was once told that I eat, sleep, walk and talk clogging. Well, I guess when you enjoy something that much it just becomes a big part of you.” ~ Melissa
Melissa has been clogging for 21 years. In the past she has been taught by wonderful instructors and has gone on to share her talent with others and form the Appalachian Hoedowners. She is very proud to be the instructor of the Hoedowners, such an extremely talented group of dancers. She and her husband Danny have been married for 21 years and reside in Crockett Virginia.
Appalachian Hoedowners call Crockett Virginia home. The group was founded 13 years ago with Melissa as the instructor and just 6 dancers. But has since been growing and changing with the times. The Hoedowners now have 25 very energetic and dedicated members that range in ages from 7 to 70. They perform to a variety of music from Bluegrass, Country, Gospel and a little rock.
The Hoedowners perform at many different events throughout the year from both state and local fairs, theme parks, reunions, nursing homes, Christmas parades, etc., in and around Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina.
2008 is showing to be a very exciting year for the Hoedowners with new high energy dancers and a new style of dancing. They are very excited to showcase their talent which they feel blessed to have received and enjoy sharing with others. If you are looking for cloggers at an event you are having, drop us an e-mail and we'll send you more information.
