Young Drivers’ Education

If there’s an opportunity to share with young people about safe driving, we’ll take it!

Virginia is the only state that requires young drivers to come to court WITH A PARENT to receive their licenses.  These ceremonies are held once a month in Loudoun County.

Mrs. Guthrie attends each ceremony to tell the story of Joshua’s accident in hopes that his life and death will make a difference -- encouraging young drivers and their parents to drive safely.

Community Service

Joshua’s Hands partners with Panera to provide food to the elderly and needy in our community.  Once a week, teams of volunteers pickup bread at days end from Panera.  This bread is then distributed to multiple locations serving the community.  This bread distribution program distributes approximately $25,000 worth of food annually.

We also collect sample/travel size shampoos, soaps, etc., for missionaries to use in Guatemala!

If you would like to volunteer with these efforts, just let us know!

Scholarships

Joshua’s Hands provides scholarship funds to Precept Ministries for their Teen Boot Camps.

We also offer academic scholarships that are essay based and reward graduating Loudoun County (VA) seniors.

Joshua’s Hands has a five-fold ministry -- like the fingers on a hand:

1) Community Service

2) Scholarships

3) Young Drivers’ Education

4) The Annual Fall Festival

5) Education

Education

“We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven…But we have forgotten God.”  Abraham Lincoln defined the problem in 1863.  We are plagued by it still today.

Joshua’s Hands desires to glorify God by broadening its existing ministries to establish an American Heritage Center (AHC) in Loudoun County, Virginia.  The AHC will provide for a variety of evangelistic and discipleship opportunities combining Biblical living and principles with America’s unique cultural heritage and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

While cherishing the foundation that has been laid, we want to continue building Christian involvement in the present and future of America, letting our light so shine among men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven.

The blending of Christian training, outreach and practical service will be our ongoing commitment to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and love and bless others.

This is a unique location with a unique opportunity for Christian ministry that will allow us to share God’s truth with people who may never darken the doors of a church or listen to a sermon.

In a step toward building the programming for the American Heritage Center, Joshua’s Hands sponsored Walk Thru the Bible seminars (both Old and New Testament) in the fall of 2006.
