The early church was a close community of Christ-followers who were dedicated to the advancement of hope into the world. The church is the sign, instrument and foretaste of the kingdom, a counter-cultural force dedicated to helping God restore the world. The early Christians restored broken people by not only healing their infirmities and providing for their needs, but also by sharing the message that Jesus has fulfilled the promise God made to Abraham that the world would be blessed through his descendants.
