If our problem is JUST the faulty sensor, then why is my computer NOT going into emergency sleep???

For almost 3 weeks my computer has been stable with the track-pad running back at 26ºC....The temperature graph history is a flat line so I am not convinced that the sensor is working as it should..... but the operating system thinks the temperature is 26ºC and that is all that matters.

Yesterday I noticed that I had forgotten to load Temperature Monitor after my last restart (software update) and when I opened it I was surprised to find the trackpad reading had shot up to 90ºC! It has remained flat line at that temp since..... however, NO NAP attack.

That extreme high temperature reading should trigger an ‘overtemp signal emergency sleep’ instruction from the system. For some reason it is not doing so.

We MUST have a software/OS code problem for this to be happening. Sure the sensor is faulty, but that is not the only thing wrong with these narcoleptic bricks.

Breaking News! my track pad sensor ran at 96ºC for a few days and has now disappeared. No reading ---
Gone? Vanished? Still no NAP so maybe I’ll just outlive this critter.
Why No N.A.P. Attack?
