Well, there you go. Hope these lil’ devils last a moment before the elements or people sweep them away. Had fun placing them. A little harrowing, though, what between balancing the items, a camera, camera bag, sunglasses I kept having to remove, and the bill of my cap that kept banging into my viewfinder. Oh, and of course, the scads of peoples swirling around while I’m trying to be cool, you know? Lotta surveillance cameras in the nabe, too, I noticed later. Hey, maybe I’m on film, or tape, or whatever! Oh, hey, check this out: For those of you interested, I’m planning on creating some limited edition teensies. I’m going to sculpt an original, cast it, finish it, and paint the little thingy. I’m going to fabricate a tiny New York fire hydrant, a phone handset, and other icons in miniature. Each will be signed, numbered and dated. Maybe a hundred bucks apiece. Then you won’t need to steal the things I’ve put around the city and can feel good about supporting the artist and all that business. C’mon! A hundred smackaroos--that’s not too bad . These will be made by me, not flunkies or former student Democracy protesters and underage children in lead dust--filled factories in Kowloon.
