IN MEMORIAM

Barbara “Becky” Bell

5.22.1949 - 12.17.2006

Beloved wife of Richard Franco, cherished sister of Joyce Vargo, loving daughter of the late Josephine and Floyd Bell, precious godmother to Logan and Angelina Lofland, dear aunt and friend to many went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 17.      Becky, known for her unwavering devotion and loyalty to the people and causes closest to her heart, will always be loved and cherished by those whose lives she touched.

Tenured vice president of editorial and production at Publications

International, Ltd., Becky was a creative writing alumnus of the University of Michigan (Phi Beta Kappa, Hopwood Award recipient), and she  flourished as a publishing executive. Becky's concern for her colleagues' personal well-being and professional development characterized her long and distinguished career.

Becky selflessly shared her wisdom, frankness, humor, and creativity. Her deep and abiding faith was the central and primary focus of her life. Becky found life-sustaining strength, comfort, and peace in her relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ.

Even as she battled through her own personal adversity, Becky saw her illness as an opportunity to help others and raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Her efforts will live on through the lives and programs that she influenced.

Forgive our grief

for one removed,

Thy creature,

whom we found so fair.

I trust she lives in thee,

and there

I find her worthier

to be loved.
