Rachael has played in  numerous positions in the band over the years that she has been with us. These include cornet, flugel, baritone and percussion as well as her main instrument tenor horn. A graduate of Salford College she studied brass band music under the tutorage of Roy Newsome and David King including conducting which she put to good use as a past conductor of the Youth Band. She continues to work with the young people who express an interest in playing as she tutors the beginner group on Wednesday evenings.

Rachael is a primary school teacher in a local school where she runs many musical ensembles including a choir and brass ensemble.
