Autumn Update
 
After a medium-long hiatus (hey, we took a summer vacation!) we’re back with another update. The past 4 months have been busy with the two boys as I’m sure you can imagine. During the summer we:
 
    - we put in a mow strip
    - laid sod (with the help of the ward & the Bair’s)
    - planted 90+ flowers (thanks Dad!)
   - installed drip systems for all the flowers
    - planted a tree
    - planted 2 fruit trees (orange & lemon trees, next to the grapefruit)
    - started an herb garden

Thomas the Train
 
While Richard was at JavaOne earlier this month, Marlaina took Luke and Jacob to see Grandma and uncle Sam at the Thomas the Train expo in Sacramento. They had a lot of fun. Here’s a link to the photos!

Luke Has An Owie
 
Luke got an owie today after church. We were outside the church and talking to somebody about the YM service project. Luke wanted to go running out into the parking lot, but Richard held onto his hand and wouldn’t let him get away. Luke squirmed around and tried to get loose, and in the process sprained his wrist.

It has been bothering him all afternoon. We iced it and he took a nap, but still favored it after his nap and would cry whenever he moved it or touched it. We got an appointment

Meam-Up
 
Over the weekend, everyone helped Dad out in the backyard while he finished putting in the sprinklers.  Richard would dig out a trench and Luke would faithfully go behind him and try and fill it back up. It took months and months to finish the job and some help from Uncle Nate and Joe but at last we have lots of sprinklers that work!  They make great big mud puddles in our backyard and that is why you see a picture of Luke in the Laundry sink, “meaming-up” as he calls it.  He uses that phrase

Camping Practice
 
Last week, Richard set up our tent in our front room.  It was a practice run to see how the boys  and Mom would do on a camping trip.  Boy, was Luke excited, yet Jacob was not too sure of the idea.  Richard was a trooper and put a twin mattress in the tent for Marlaina to sleep on and he slept in a sleeping bag.  Jacob never made it and went to sleep in his swing like always.  Marlaina tried but went and slept in her real bed but Richard and Luke stuck it out!  We can’t wait to see what
