After a medium-long hiatus (hey, we took a summer vacation!) we’re back with another update. The past 4 months have been busy with the two boys as I’m sure you can imagine. During the summer we:
- we put in a mow strip
- laid sod (with the help of the ward & the Bair’s)
- planted 90+ flowers (thanks Dad!)
- installed drip systems for all the flowers
- planted a tree
- planted 2 fruit trees (orange & lemon trees, next to the grapefruit)
- started an herb garden
- built a new gate in the fence
- laid a flagstone path
- installed a concrete pad & walkway by the garage
- went to Ikea (twice)
- tried 3 different beds for Luke (he’s a tricky sleeper)
- put a shelf up in the office & a whiteboard
- decorated Jacob’s room
- readjusted the sprinklers (about 80 times)
- rearranged the furniture in the front rooms
- saw Great Grandma Bair (and sundry cousins)
- ate probably 10 dozen eggs and 7 dozen cookies
- had a neighborhood watch meeting at our house (they were supposed to eat the cookies but let me down so I had to eat them instead)
We probably did something else, but that’s pretty representative. Looking over the past summer we sure did a lot of ... work. It is nice to have all that stuff in, we almost have a backyard ready for play now :-). Hopefully next year we’ll be able to really finish it off and get the garden in too, and have time to actually do something vacation worthy :-).
