Richard Allain is one of the UK’s leading choral composers. His works encompass a wide range of styles, including music theatre, sacred choral music and works for children. He has been commissioned to write music for BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4. Richard has worked with many of the country’s leading choirs and musicians; his music has appeared at the BBC Proms,and his work is regularly performed within the UK and in countries throughout the world.


Richard is composer in association to the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain


Richard’s Ubi Caritas has become part of Classic FM’s core playlist, and has been released on their Smooth Classics, the Ultimate Collection CD. Richard’s latest choral work is a setting of Richard Crashaw’s Welcome All Wonders. Commissioned  by Collegium Regale (the choral scholars of King’s College, Cambridge), it was broadcast as part of Radio 4’s Daily Service on Christmas Eve 2010. Cana’s Guest appears in Choir Book for the Queen, a volume of contemporary choral music celebrating the Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II .
