The shortest distance between two points may be a straight line, but a curvy line is so much more interesting. My path from pointe shoes to pen was definitely an original one.  Though writing was my first love, dance was my first career.  I started out at five years old, and by the time I was eleven I was the youngest member of a regional dance company in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Dance was a passion for me, probably because perfecting it was virtually impossible.  There was always something else you could focus on -longer balances, more pirouettes.  It kept my interest.  So, while it may seem like a stretch to go from dance to writing, writing has a lot of the same elements. As an ad writer, I’m learning about new products and services all the time. That’ll keep your mind hopping with Alzheimer-preventative neurons.  I guess the most obscure product I worked on was ages ago.  It was a clip that goes inside the brain to prevent aneurisms.  It was fascinating to learn about it. I’m a storyteller at heart, though. Growing up, I had a booming babysitting business keeping kids enthralled with an ongoing (and I mean ongoing) saga about five teens who had discovered an abandoned house that turned out to be haunted. I love all the aspects of storytelling, writing, and creating.  It keeps me entertained, educated, and engaged. What more could I ask for?

Favorite Travel Destination so far: Sicily the Basque region in Spain, and Paris, France - Paris mainly because I’m a big art lover and it was so awesome to see a larger scope of work by some of my favorite artists - I learned so much more about them that way.
