Has a person born blind in one eye ever seen in three dimensions?
On more than one occasion I have helped a blind person to see a piece of my sculpture by running their hands over it. In each case I was powerless to help them appreciate the gallery paintings all around us but to them the sculpture had meaning and purpose as they too sensed the inner messages of each piece.
Since I can more easily perceive my thoughts in words than the silent body language in which I sculpt, perhaps I’d have been a better sculptor had I never learned to speak.
