5 gifts of An Abundant Life-Intention April 20, 2008
Rev. David Alexander
Today is the second week of our Spirit of Home Program. It’s a pledging program that we hold in the spring because it’s the time for planting seeds.
The first of the five gifts is GRATITUDE
We can’t complain or be anger or bitter and be in gratitude at the same time. An attitude of gratitude brings more good into our lives. Gratitude is the great multiplier. When Jesus blessed the bread and fish to feed the 5000, he gave thanks that it was enough—and it was!
Being grateful for a situation where you might not feel grateful allows us to receive the give that situation is trying to bring us—so that we don’t have to repeat it!!
INTENTION is the second gift. Intention is about conscious choosing. We can consciously choose where to put our attention and in that way we are co-creators of our experience. Patterns that repeat themselves in our lives do not do so because of conscious choosing. The patterns repeat due to “default” because we don’t have a conscious intention the change!
Where you intention is is where your attention will be and what we give attention to, we tend to create in our lives.
Saying a “word”—sets up a “vibration”(intention)—which creates an avenue for “manifestation.” This is the Law of Mind in action.
Dreaming: Accessing the Infinite field of possibilities. There is a creative urge within us. Our challenge is that we’ve created boundaries that dreams break.
Doing: Inner doing create the space of possibilities through prayer and meditation. We create a “mold” for spirit to fill. Expand and stretch.
Detachment: Let go of the outcome. We don’t know all the ways that God is creating good for us. We can be available to the many and unique ways that our dream will show up.
We are the only species that argues with God!! There is abundance for all. What if we didn’t argue? What if we let the Universe flow through us joyously?
Questions to ponder:
1. What is God’s intention for your life?
2. Am I ready to unleash the intention of the Universe as my life?

5 Gifts of an Abundant Life: Intention
