Stress Test and Driving Test

Once or twice per year, I perform a stress test to evaluate the effectiveness of my Holistic Living System. This most recent stress test began on the morning of Monday, July 9 and extended through the evening of Tuesday, July 10.

The stress test included the following:

  1. •No sleep from Monday morning through Tuesday evening at 11PM

  2. •No food from Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon around 3PM

  3. •Tuesday early morning, after about 24 hours of work without sleep or food, went running over 3 miles in the full heat of an Iowa summer day, and made record time.

  4. •Tuesday mid-morning, after about 24 hours without sleep or food, and after running over three miles, attentively and coherently participated in a lengthy staff meeting.

  5. •Tuesday afternoon, after about 30 hours without sleep or food, after running over three miles and attending a lengthy staff meeting, took the Iowa Driver’s written exam and passed. Driver’s tests are known for their complexity and they are particularly difficult for someone who doesn’t drive much. Many of the questions have to do with slight differences in distance, right of way questions, and sign shapes. Passing the test with little or no preparation is quite an accomplishment.

  6. •Tuesday evening, after about 33 hours without sleep, running over three miles, attending a lengthy staff meeting, and taking the Iowa Iowa Driver’s written exam, spent four hours setting up a variety of computer systems flawlessly and efficiently.

  7. •Tuesday night, after about 36 hours without sleep and working non-stop, went on an intensive 30-minute bike ride.

  8. •Woke up early the following day, Wednesday, July 11, fully rested and ready for another productive day.

This was perhaps one of the most intensive and successful stress tests to date.
