The Lichavi Express was 5 hours late by the time we woke up in the morning and by the time we got to Delhi at about noon was 8 hours late. The air-conditioning made our ride comfortable. So we missed the Shatabdi Express to Dehra Dun by hours. At 8 in the morning we began trying to make connections with the travel agent who had bought us our tickets from the train using Elaine’s cell phone which she had programmed for India. We finally got through and arranged for a large air-conditioned tourist bus with excellent air conditioning to meet us at the train station, which it did. We were taken to a good restaurant for good Indian food and then to an ATM machine. It took so long to do both of these things that we left Delhi at 4 p.m. for the seven hour ride to Dehra Dun. We arrived in Dehra Dune at 11:30 and after switching to taxies arrived in Mussoorie at the Dev Dar Woods at 1:30 a.m. and were finally in bed at 2.
