Welcome to my, Bill Mosher’s, unofficial, personal response through photographs and videocasts to the first week at Warren Wilson for 350 new students. At present on my website, billybaba.com, are a number of slide shows of the first week. There are also a number of videocasts to which you can subscribe and then play on your computers or iPods. Videocasts “ Aug 31 Arrival” and “Aug 31 Peer Groups” download more quickly since they have no movement within the photograpphs.
Also available is a 160 page hard bound book with about 300 photographs, of the kind on the website slide shows, with an included DVD (playable on a DVD player or computer) with all of the photographs on the web page. If you want to order this book ($60 plus shipping) contact me below.
But there is a hitch with this web communication. Photographs take a lot of space and pan and zoom photographs, audio files and videos even more. The files on this site, while compressed, are still large. To see them you will need the latest version of free iTunes and the latest version of free Quicktime Player. And you need broadband or else everything will download with excruciating slowness. I’m not making any concessions to dial-up modems or old technology as regular commercIal, and even Warren Wilson’s website, have to do. If you can’t see these photographs or hear music and stories, I’m sorry. You’ll have to find a computer somewhere with broadband and the latest versions of iTunes and Quicktime. Some of these blog videos are quite long and even with broadband will take awhile for the grey line moving across the bottom to show that they are downloaded. Once downloaded you can save them on your desktop and easily view them again.
