Your comments on the marina in Madeira were almost the exact same comments we made when we visited it - in 2002! We also saw the plans, the fees and negotiated our own deal. Sounds like not a lot has changed. Loved the photo of the boat kids - brought back many memories for us. Hej ! Man blir ju avundsjuk när man läser om era ävenyr! Jag var ju själv och seglade runt Kanarieöarna 1986-1987 så jag vet hur behagligt det kan vara. Trist nog tog pengarna slut så jag seglade hem, jobbade skaffade ny båt och var på väg ut igen men kom till Ystad... Ja, resten vet ni ju.. Och nu seglar man på Siljan. Undrar vad nästa steg blir. Radiostyrd båt i badkaret... :o( För väl trösta mej med min snowboard och en isjakt istället. Hoppas det går bra för er och att ni inte stöter på några skurkar på vägen. We arrived in Australia 2 years ago having sailed here from the UK in our catamran with our twins of 11yrs old. Some cruising friends continued and arrived home in Europe this summer and I was lamenting the fact that I could no longer follow their travels when I found your site. We loved the Rias, loved Madeira too and painted our logo at Porto Santo - so many memories and no regrets. Our kids loved the cruise and have settled back into nornal high school with no problems. Maria aer haer och haelsar paa oss i Cardiff (Wales), saa jag beraettade om era web-sidor. Vi tyckte att bilderna paa delfinerna var jaette-fina (Nick tyckte ocksaa om olje-plattformerna eftersom han aer ingenjoer!).
Kanske ni vet hur man faar svenska bokstaever paa PC? Der haer ser jaette-konstigt ut.
Jag hoppas ocksaa att vi faar chansen att se er paa er vaeg igenom 'Irish Sea' - i Cardiff aer vi ungefaer 2-och-en-halv-timmar fran Wales' vaest kust (Fishguard? St David's? Solva?).

Flott å lese om turen så langt ( vi har også stått stille i Limfjorden ! )Dersom jeg tidsnok hadde sett at dere var innom Farsund sist helg , hadde jeg tatt meg en tur bortom . Dear beloved adventurous family!
Sitting in the glass tower, 15th floor and looking over a large desert of houses and betony in Brussels, Belgium, I can also somewhere feel: WHY? But my why is exactly the opposite: WHY am I staying? Why am I not as brave and energetic as you are – exploring limits, braking boarders, gathering new experiences - yes: stepping into a new period of life?
I believe anyone asks himself: WHY? QUO VADIS?
I am convinced we lead our lives in a spirit of unconsciousness, which we are seeking to understand. And I am convinced that taking the decision you have, is a large step towards the answer!
SO GOOD LUCK with your last preparations before the white handkerchiefs waving in the Harbour of previous “home”.
Go, and explore your “HOME” - elsewhere than geographically. And I pray with you for God’s benediction .

Dear crew of REGINA!
Half an hour before the start of a regatta I am always overwhelmed by a strong feeling of fatique and I simply have to lie down and sleep. 5 minutes of sleep cures it. Now that you are almost bent to the ground (still on land!) by the task of preparing yourselves and the boat for the cruise, know that this is a normal and natural feeling. Part of the game and an addition to later pleasure!

Nice story about the tour in "Zeeland" I have read it in one time... very nice.
I am sailing a lot in Zeeland (Bruinisse, Grevelingen) with a realy beautifull HR 29. She is from 1989 but better as new!
I liked your story very much, maby sometime again here in Zeeland. I am thinking on a trip to Danmark, but furst this year to France...
I wil make a story too!

es mußte erst passieren , dass Max und Moni nach Verden kommen, damit sie deine neue Homepage sehen konnten. Thank you for sharing your thoughts ...They echo many of my own feelings about life, and reflects what I suspect many feel in their hearts as they crest fifty-years.
I am fifty-four, an engineer and photographer, owned a small farm in Oregon, and was miserable. In Munich on a business trip, I checked myself into the hospital with chest-pains. Returning to the States and a job of little reward, I longed for a more meaningful life. The children were grown, my marriage was ending, and the farm had lost its charm. Photography was my passion, and I found myself in Port Townsend, Washington, at the Wooden Boat Festival in search of images. That experience changed my life. With eyes-wide-opened, the beauty of a schooner and ketch, the lines of a boat on the water, the sounds of people enjoying life ... led me to sell everything, sail wooden-boats in the San Juan Islands that summer, and finally to buy a Hallberg-Rassy 42 with dreams of Mexico and the South Pacific.
Two years later, I can anchor out in one of the thousands of coves tucked away in these San Juan Islands, pour myself a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, and play Bach's Cello Suite in Gmajor upon my cello, barefoot on the deck of s/v Sequel. An evening amaranth sky, Bach's prelude mixed with the sounds of the ocean lapping against the hull of my boat, my magic-carpet.
Who said dreams can't come true?
