THE CLAY STATION
For 11 years, Dot Art has provided Dorchester and greater Boston with award winning visual arts programs. 18 months ago we were excited to add The Clay Station, a well equipped ceramics studio, to our range of facilities. The studio’s large windows allow bright light into our workspace and offer a chance for the neighborhood to watch the creation of pots. We’re fortunate to have 10 electric pottery wheels and two electric kilns. Studio equipment includes a slab roller and an abundance of table surfaces and shelving. We use low-fire and mid-fire (cone 6) clays. There is a large selection of Amaco glazes and a rotating selection of custom-mixed glazes at our disposal. Clay Studio potters also have access to raku firings throughout the year. Open studio time this fall is on Saturday afternoons.
