René Edde is currently working full time as a staff photojournalist in the Chicago area. Her studies in a self-designed interdisciplinary photography and journalism degree at Columbia College in Chicago are temporarily on hold while René takes advantage to learn about the industry first hand and while saving money in order to once again be able to afford the sky-rocketing costs of further education.
Initially drawn to photography as a commercial and artistic pursuit, René began her photographic education at The Art Institute of Atlanta, GA, US in 1999.
Currently seeking to create a stronger body of documentary work as a way to explore and promote social change, René interests focus on human rights and social photojournalism, and in exploring the potentially effective role of media and community responsibility.
