...a crappy amp can make a great guitar sound crappy, a great amp can make a mediocre guitar sound pretty good...
Some of my Tube Stash

GEC KT66’s
Best known for use in the venerable JTM45. Newer (mid 60’s-70’s) clear glass left, older (50’s-mid 60’s ) gray glass right. They will typically last thousands of hours, which is even more important in a guitar amp circuit that is over-driven to maximum volume. New production (Chinese/Eastern europe) tubes will not last nearly as long, as of yet.
In my JTM45 offset (L-R), RCA, Mullard short plate, Mullard long plate 12AX7’s (preamp), pair of gray GEC KT66’s (power amp), Mullard GZ34 rectifier
Mullard (branded as GE) EL34’s, xf4 type .
The superlead has Sylvania preamp 12AX7’s, and a quad of Mullard EL34’s (a xf2 pair and xf4 pair)
A matched quad of Sylvania 6CA7’s, for when I run out of Mullards, or I want a bit of a harder, tighter sound.
My Dynaco ST70 hi-fi amp, GE 6CA7 power tubes, Mullard GZ34 rectifier, JAN 6922 preamp dual triodes
