It began as the soundtrack for a very wild Italian documentary but soon grew as a self-produced venture into emotions; listening to the many voices we carry inside ourselves. VOICES FROM WITHIN will sooth you...will romance you and is the perfect music to listen to before, during or after a busy day.
In the 70’s, she was a member of the hot disco band “BROTHER & SISTER” which was featured on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand and is currently working on a re-release of their hit single “Midnight Desire” as well a n additional collection of unreleased songs.
Having experienced the joys and challenges of motherhood, her commitment to children and their education has been fortified and she has been donating some of the proceeds of this project as well as her time to various educational organizations associated with children. BANG!CRASH!BOOM! ™ is a percussion program Rebecca Dru developed for children to build their self-esteem using the practical application of music. Music offers an emotional outlet, it’s a social experience, and a way to communicate where there are no barriers regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sex and socio-economic background. It provides a common ground that traverses all things. Music enhances a child’s studies because it involves learning a new language; a language based on the musical alphabet, math concepts and is enriched by history. The percussion section is the rhythmic heartbeat of any band or orchestra. It is Rebecca’s goal to show how that aspect carries over from one’s own pulse to the rhythms of life all around us. The program culminates in a staged instrumental musical. The Show is composed, created and performed entirely by the children. It enables each child a sense of confidence and accomplishment.
But on a lighter note, what she enjoys most is simply savoring all of life’s little moments...having fun, laughing and...boogie boarding, snorkling, horseback riding, tropical beaches, creating tantilizing tastebud delights with her daughter, sculpting, a glass of wine with friends in the Tuscan countryside, a good trashy novel, watching “ALL MY CHILDREN” curled up in her husband’s arms, ice skating with her daughter, painting, developing her MAC consulting business, playing practical jokes and spending time with her family and friends.
