JEVA: Jewish Environmental Voice

of Austin

Welcome to JEVA
Austin is known as a “green” city, with a deep attachment to its natural beauty and an even deeper concern for preserving nature and the environment. The Jewish Environmental Voice of Austin (JEVA) has formed to educate the community about environmental themes within Judaism, promote advocacy for Jewish environmental values, and help Jewish organizations and families become more environmentally responsible.

The Jewish Environmental Voice of Austin (JEVA) is non-denominational and everyone in the Austin Jewish community is invited to participate.

November 2007 Update: JEVA is currently on a bit of a hiatus. Last spring, two of our most active leaders, Jennifer and Shema, moved away from Austin to attend graduate school. As a result, JEVA hasn’t met in several months. But we are working on re-forming! Please keep visiting this page, and please contact Rabbi Steve Folberg for more information on JEVA specifically and on Jewish environmental activities in Austin.

For more information, go to our About Us page, and use the navigation links that appear at the top of each page to learn more about what we do. And be sure to check out our Blog archives!
