Junior Naturalist Club
The Saugeen Field Naturalists are proud to present the Junior Naturalists program for young people ages 6 to 12 years old. This group will meet to discover, investigate and have adventures and fun in the natural world.
Registration:
1. Pre register by mailing in the registration form plus a cheque made payable to the Saugeen Field Naturalists at Box 20156, Hanover, Ontario N4N 3T1
2. Register at the first meeting on September 18, 2010 between 9:30 am and 10:00 am (note as spaces are limited, we suggest applications be submitted before September 6th, 2010 to ensure a spot). A copy of the program will be handed out to each family at this first meeting. The program is also available on this website.
3. A receipt will be given to parents when they drop off their children at the October meeting the following month.
Please note: one registration form per child. Forms are available at schools & libraries or can be printed from this web site.
Fees: Fees are $50.00 for each child which covers 9 fun filled sessions, plus a $10.00 fee for each family if you are not members of the Saugeen Field Naturalist club to cover the cost of the newsletters you will receive during the year.
Other Important Stuff:
- Program is suitable for children ages 6 to 12, and is led by a trained, well qualified leader
- Meetings are from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on the 3rd Sat morning of each month (unless otherwise noted). Note - no meetings in December, June, July and August.
- It is important that children are dropped off and picked up on time since we often leave the building right away. If someone other than the parent or guardian shown on the registration is to pick up the child they must present an authorization signed by the parent or guardian shown on the registration
- Unless otherwise indicated, meetings are held at the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority headquarters south of Hanover, in the resource building which is just east of the main administrative building. Please watch schedules closely for those sessions having other meeting locations
- Please make sure children are dressed for the weather. Good waterproof footwear, hats and mitts are a must for most meetings. We do not have much fun or learn much when we are wet and cold!
- Parents are welcome to stay for the meetings but be forewarned that you may be asked to help, and we do also expect you to have fun!
