Friends and Family Gallery
Welcome
We started this webgallery to share with friends and family. My paintings are piling up -- literally. Quite a few have sold for charities and others have supported the costs of painting. But I have many that I’ve painted in the learning process. Some aren’t half bad. They seem to frame up quite nicely. And friends have liked them. So I thought I’d create a kind of painting bargain gallery for friends and family to help a number of charities. You may want to fill a spot in your home or wish to surprise someone with a real watercolor or oil painting this holiday season. Many are marked for charitable donation to First Star (wwwfirststar.org.), Starlight-Starbright, World Hunger -Bono/Gates, Operation Happy Note(www.operationhappynote.com), other charities or your choice of charities. Those unmarked will defray the costs of paints, brushes, mounts, frames (which our children are now learning to make) and other art items. And you could let us know charities or nonprofits doing great things and we’ll add them.
So pretend you’ve just been handed a glass of fine champagne and browse. No need to purchase anything. But we’d love to hear how you enjoyed the visit. And if you were thinking about donating to a charity but it keeps slipping your mind, now you can do it and get a painting too! TO OUR SURPRISE AND DELIGHT EIGHTEEN ARE ALREADY GONE IN A FEW WEEKS AND TWO PEOPLE HAVE PROMISED TO CHOOSE ONE!! So many charities have benefited.
TO SELECT A PAINTING
If you select a painting and a charity is listed or your choice of charity is mentioned, you could donate directly to the charity. Just let Chris know (cnoblet@aol.com) and we’ll send the painting to you. He’s the handsome guy in the tux roaming about the gallery, running the show, and sampling the fine champagnes. He’ll tell you the shipping cost as he is “Web Gallery Administrative Financial guru.” Most are with mounts but not in frames, so shipping is likely to be inexpensive -- about $7 - $10 for most -- and should take about five days to 10 days. I just get to paint! Works for me!!
The measurements are of the paintings themselves absent the mount. It’s easy then to go to Michael’s or someplace like it to get a reasonably priced frame. After looking at the paintings below, click on “paintings 2” at the top of this page to get to the next page and so on.
ABOUT THE PAINTINGS
“Morning Shadow” is just what it’s called -- a focus on light and a little heron watching the sun rise. “After The Storm” is a oil with strong color and intensity. The light is that emerging when the storm has passed. Water’s Edge is part of a series of this scene influenced by little boats everywhere but especially in Rhode Island. “Mountain Spring” was painted on a journey out to California from New England. Somewhere over the middle of the U.S. these shades entered my mind. “Moments” is a set of two small paintings that can be framed or used as bookmarks. PdCreativity.org is a site devoted to displaying the art of people with PD. Stop by. These small paintings are original watercolors signed on back or front with scenes like this landscape. So you can get two gifts out of this. “Pansies is bright and pleasing. “Foxglove” is one my daughter found when we were straightening my art closet and she really liked it. And because she found that one in the same book were “Gentle Night” and “Fishing,” all ones I’d forgotten were there. You can suggest the price (YSP) and/or your choice of charity (YC) on various paintings. Operation Happy Note, by the way, is run by a couple in Minnesota who send musical instruments to soldiers. They were featured on NBC Nightly News on September 7. These generous people caught my eye and captured my heart. So we wanted to have donations go to them.
