The Original Ron & Jody Homepage, circa 2000

Ron & Jody Dodson's Homepage

Hi, Ron & Jody here. Well, Ron here. My wife is wonderful but doesn't know HTML from Dennis Miller.

The picture to the left is of the two of us in Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives. We are Christian, so Jerusalem was a real treat. You can drink the water, but man, that food is...well, the bread is good. The Jews in Israel bury their dead in the stone boxes seen behind us. Normally, that is done because of a high water table. I didn't see any standing water the whole time I was in that town, so I guess they just like the look.

I convinced Jody to marry me on February 16th, 1999. I was at the controls of a small plane at the time, so coercion might have been a factor. We wed on "The Nineteenth of June, Nineteen Hundred and Ninety-Nine." (why do you have to write it that way?) It was great. My wife is the coolest woman on Earth, she's beautiful, and loves the Lord. She also loves chocolate and our dog Sadie (AKA boo-boo). She loves me on a good day, and all in all, our life is pure greatness.

We live in Dallas, TX, near The Galleria (a big mall on the north side of town) and go to Park Cities Presbyterian Church. We're Calvinists (you know, those predestinationists).  We know Jesus is coming back someday, and until then we should pursue Him in thought and deed and enjoy His blessings. Don't you hate joyless Christians? "Oh yeah, I'm going to heaven and all, but my life sure is miserable." These folks use prayer time as an excuse to question God's provision. Call me when Caesar dips you in wax and decides you'd make a cute party candle,  Cheech.

I manage money. Sometimes well, and sometimes not so much. I love what I do. As for hobbies, I'm into reading theology and sci-fi, flying, golf, and computing. Jody manages our home, volunteers a lot, and enjoys email, reading and exercise. Some old guy ran over her a couple of years back, so she doesn't run as much as she'd like. Jody is very compassionate but also pretty darned rational, a rare combination. I love her more than anything other than the Lord--and sometimes in my sin more than Him.

When growing up, I had great parents and relatives. Those people aren't in this picture. But rather this is me and my brother, David, with my uncle Joe and his wife, Tammy. Joe is a lot less threatening in person. Really.

It must have been very hot, because I notice that I'm wearing a fashionable mesh shirt. I oughta bring that look back.

To the left is my high school band, Exposure. Dude, we were so...loud. This was basically an experiment in bad clothes and poor execution. Notice the stage presence we had--all of us fixated on the necks of our instruments. We played Stairway to Heaven, I'm sorry to admit, and what's worse is that we played it wrong. I can't tell you the number of times I've run into high school buddies who've reminded me of that fact.  I remember this was a high school talent show, and this other group lip synched a song by Judas Priest. None of the girls knew that, and all thought they were better than us. Reportedly, this has become a popular formula in today's music "scene."

This is a picture of my brother, Dave, from high school church camp (Park Cities Baptist--Dallas). I thought I looked pretty stupid in that band picture above, so I spread the wealth a little here. He's on the right, wearing the cap.

Here's Dave a couple of years later, looking all grown up. This is a few months after the infamous "Forest lane bags-on-the-heads prank," so please have some compassion. Can you imagine a greater picture of '80s cool? In his Camarro, reflector shades, and mullet, he scores a 9.85.

Spring break '89, my senior year at Southern Methodist University. I put this in here to hopefully catch these guys online sometime. That's (from left) Trey and Allison Biggs, me, Andy Magness, Anne Friesen, John Bianco, and Flip Apel. Nice People.

We had fun in the Florida keys.

This cheesy picture includes me with a "hey gals, look how cool I am in this shirt unbuttoned to my navel." The tall guy is my college roommate Chip, a really nice guy from Atlanta, and two great girls I was friends with. Angie Wampler, on the left, was/is hilarious. She married her high school sweetheart a few years back. Beth Okerlund was cool, too. She's from Minnesota, doncha know, there. She looks kinda hacked off in this picture, so I probably was making fun of the way she talked. Okey dokey. Hey there. Oh boy.

On the left is my mom modeling a prototype turtleneck. It never did go over, but it did draw a lot of looks. That's me and Dave with her. I have no idea what I was so dang happy about. Or aboot, as my Canadian wifey likes to say. Eh.
