My friend Mark and I completed a 28 mile backpacking trip that circumnavigated the Maroon Bells. We camped at Crater Lake on the second night of the trip. I scouted out this location in the evening after setting up camp, then returned at dawn to capture first light on the lake. I like the abstract forms created by light and shadow in this composition.
