the article. For now I just repeat one of my favorite proverbs, “Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while”, whenever someone congratulates me for winning first prize in a photo exposition held here in Gjilan.              

    A couple of weeks ago a Kosovar friend of mine suggested that I enter some of the photos that I took on Independence Day in an exposition the City of Gjilan and the art community was going to do.  The title of the exposition was, “Muaji i pare i pavarsise” which means, “The first month of Independence”.  They wanted to put together photos of the big day for the community to enjoy.

    I had given my friends father a cd of my pictures and unbeknownst to me, he had entered several of my photos.  Not knowing that he had done this, I also entered several others at a different time.  The funny thing was is that I had not included the winning photo in the ones that I submitted so if he would not have entered the ones he did, I may not have won anything.  So, you see, the proverb is true, “Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while”.
