The only emotion word I remember from my first trip to Kosovo last April was “Gzima”. It meant joyful. I remembered it because of a beautiful believer that I met in Prishtina. Her name was Gzima and it fit. Her testimony of faith, hope and joy inspired me. I remember her saying, “Even though my father has not spoken to me since I became a believer and my mother wants me to go somewhere else if I am going to be a Christian, I will stay in my home, because if I am gone than they will not have a light.” Last Sunday I had the pleasure of meeting Gzima again at the “Boom” church (the mother to the church plant in Gjillan). She remembered me and immediately told me that she had a surprise with her that day...her brother and sister were there in church with her! They have begun to come and Gzima sparkled with joy as she told me that it was her mother who pounded on the door in the morning to tell brother to “get up so you can go to church.” It reminds me of an old song we used to sing; “”They who sow with tears will come home with rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.”
