This video was created in the summer of 2006 in upstate New York. I had been reading Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s story “The Yellow Wallpaper” and had the opportunity to do some shooting in an old , nearly empty apartment in Red Hook, New York. In addition to some photographs, I made several videos. This one I screened at my Second Year review at Bard College. The video played in a loop on a monitor, with scattered photographs on the table and floor surrounding the monitor. The photographs were of various slivers of domesticity, such as piles of dishes, light filtering through curtains, and rumpled sheets in the bed.
