In a week-and-a-half, my babygirl, whose presence in my life spurred my blogging here in the first place, will be three years old (!), and shortly after that I will have been working at my “new” job” in my “new” field for an entire year.
Holy crap, right?
When I started writing under the nom de blog “daddy in a strange land,” I wanted some kind of elaborative tagline under the blog title. What I came up with, for better or for worse, was, “a stay-at-home-dad learns to parent in suburbia.”
When I traded “stay-at-home-dad” for “work-outside-the-home-dad” a year ago, I changed it to the long, cumbersome, and so unfunny “putting an “ex-” in front of “SAHD”—is going back to work ‘strange’ enough for ya?”
So now that this is no longer a “new” thing by any understanding of the word, I turn to you, my faithful [handful of] readers, for help. Stealing a page from MetroDad and Citymama, I want you to come up with a new tagline for my blog. Unlike MD and CM, or Lois Lane for that matter, I don’t have a bunch of cool prizes laying around, but if I pick your tagline, you could be the lucky recipient of some branded swag from my work—and c’mon, who doesn’t need some more pens and mousepads emblazoned with the name and logo of a newspaper.com website, am I right?
So there it is, unleash your literary wittiness, in the comments...NOW. :-)
