Children's and Young Adult Writers And Illustrators Conference

Alligators was held on 10th September 2011

Hatching tomorrows published authors and illustrators today!

Our second Hatchlings program was held on 11th September 2011 at St Laurence’s College,

82 Stephens Road, South Brisbane.

This program was aimed at children 8 - 18 years old who were interested in writing and illustrating for the CYA industry, or simply wanting to spend some quality time with the authors/illustrators.

Interactive workshops were conducted by Marc McBride, Brian Falkner, Tristan Bancks, Jess ‘Jaybird’ Briscoe, Sue Whiting, Jack Heath, Michael Bauer, Anne Spudvilas and Amanda Ashby.

Editors were onsite were: Sue Whiting, Lisa Berryman, Zoe Walton, Maryann Ballantyne, Nadine Bates, and Anna Bartlett.

Overall a fun day of interactive, hands on workshops with a phenomenal low child to author ratios!

The sixth CYA Conference ~ Alligator’s program was held on 10th September 2011 at St Laurence’s College, 82 Stephens Road, South Brisbane.

This conference was aimed as professional development for new and established writers and illustrators of Children’s and Young Adult literature. Master classes and workshops will be conducted by Marc McBride, Brian Falkner, Sarah Davis, Tristan Bancks, Mark Wilson, Aleesah Darlison, Jess ‘Jaybird’ Briscoe, Julie Fison, Sue Whiting, Jack Heath, Karen Robertson, Michael Bauer, Clare McFadden, Anne Spudvilas and Amanda Ashby.

Our CYA success stories and Book launches 2011 once again showcased that CYA Conference is making a difference in aspiring authors and illustrators in helping them on their road to publication, present on the day were: Katherine Battersby, Peter Allert, Robyn Osborne, Matt Porter and Julie Fison and Alison Ashley.

Manuscript assessments/pitches were held by Lisa Berryman, Zoe Walton, Maryann Ballantyne, Kristina Schulz, Sue Whiting and Nadine Bates.  And onsite agent was: Jacinta Di Mase.
