
The Library Media Centers of the Uniondale School District serve the informational and educational needs of students and faculty.
Our goals:
· To foster a love for literature and reading
· To encourage independent learning and critical thinking
· To develop research skills using a variety of print and non-print resources
· To offer materials and technologies that respond to evolving academic requirements and developments
· To function as the information center of the school.
The goals of this website are as follows:
· Support curricular, research, informational, and recreational needs of students, faculty, and staff
· Inform, motivate, and inspire students, faculty, and staff
· Provide skills for improving information literacy
· Supply programs, services, and information that improve the value of the Internet
· Serve as a supplemental research facility for students and faculty
· Provide additional online resources to support the library's print collection for class assignments, projects, and independent research
· Convey information about policies and procedures of the library and of Internet use
· Facilitate the use of licensed subscriptions to online databases
· Build a collection of sites ("Cybrary") that support the curriculum and reflect New York State standards
· Feature websites and online resources that target different learning styles.
