Newsprint pad with charcoal and chalk drawings, done in 1962. The sheet has discrepant subjects, apparently, ranging from study heads to Boschian inventions. The profile woman’s head recalls sixteenth-century Italian types, idealized and in a state of equanimity. On the other hand both of the dominant male heads, frontal and profile, reveal states of mind, be it the furrowed brow, the down-turned lips or creases on the forehead that betray the inner being. while the in profile appears to be drawn from life, he is not
