Pen and india ink on newsprint, dating to 1962, most likely. Lovers and their relationships appear to be the subject addressed. The male figure turns away from his partner on the far side of the sheet. At the top, they gaze directly into each other’s eyes, no filters, no anger, a receptive tender love becomes passionate as the couple embrace. But the man’s expression as he couples betrays his loss of innocence. And the triad of young women? Are they not manifestations of states of mind and desire of the young woman/ women: to restrain, to stop, not to proceed, not to offer a gift : is this the drama the young woman on the left witnesses?
