Quest - Day 1

Quest - Day 1 Monday 7/9/07

Alright here is my first entry for Quest: Day 1

Well I really should not call it day one for me, because that day was just me arriving, and I didn’t even arrive during the day!

Now you are now wanting a story... ok, fine.

You see my flight was a little later this time so I did not have to get up early and get stuff ready in the dark and trip all over the place! No, I got to the airport and with my family and was able to take my time.

Now the reason I got a later flight is because there were no earlier flights when we got the flight. Now we got the flight 2 weeks before. That was because I was not planing on going to Quest this year because my dad was running for Congress. So then last minute I decided to go! So that is why we got a later flight.

So right before I got on the plane my family wanted me to take a pic of them so I could remember them. LOL.

I got on the plane and everything was going fine and right before we were supposed to take off the pilot came on and said they were having some sort of air conditioning problem and they had to do something that took a long time and after like 40 min. we started to go. So I got there @ 4:00 and got my luggage that was checked and waited like 10 min. and the ALERT van came by and I got in. There was like, I think 3 other Quest guys in there. Yay.

Ok, now after that we were going all around picking up other guys @ other airports for a long time, by now I think it was like 6:30 (tell me if I am wrong on any of this Quest-ers) and by then there was still 1 or more guys that had to be picked up so they stopped @ an all you can eat pizza for 5 dollars! Good fellowship. =)

After that we left the pizza place and went to go pick up one or 2 more guys and then like 8:00 we were off to go to Quest! On our way there I waved goodbye to the coke products, because I know that would be the last time I would see them, after that... it would all be PEPSII!!!!!!! =(

Ok so we had a long trip because most of the trip was in the dark. We got there about ohh... I don’t know 10:15.
By the time we got to our barracks they were trying to figure out where we were supposed to go and then they were starting to tell us they can’t find our bed that we would have to sleep on the floor in the living room thing and I am like “so I can’t unpack” and they were like “we are not sure” so then we were standing in the living room thing and then Timothy Fuller (teem leader of green 1) walks out of his room and sees that they had an extra bed or 2. Now Tim was at Quest last year as a student and did not know till the next day that he was a leader this year. By the way, being that its 10:45 @ night I could hardly see anyone’s face, I did see some and recognized them as teem leaders from last year (like Jesse Boldin, Caleb Car, Samuel Kordik, and I think one more.

Ok so green 2 said that they think my name was in their room so I went back there (and by the way, lights out was like almost 2 hours earlier) I meet my leader and I recognized him from last year but did not know him much because he was not in my team. Then I kind of met my whole team (that was when I found out that I missed basically all the rules and unpacking time and meet all of green time and lots of stuff but that was ok because I think I had a full day anyway) then got my sheets out and pillow that’s all they allowed me to do and then they said that maybe I could unpack some time the next day or the next and I was like “=0” .

Went to bed, and that was the end of day 1! =)
