The Republican Party used to be the party of conservative principles: individualism, equality, free markets, low taxes, traditional values, limited government, low spending, decentralization, American sovereignty...

What happened?

Today, the GOP (or at least its leadership) seems to be more and more “Democrat light” -- statism, cronyism, state-run economy, higher taxes, government encroachment on religion, big government, out-of-control spending, centralization, globalization...

Thanks to all of this, the conservative base of the Republican Party practically sat out the last mid-term election, handing the Democrats control of both houses of Congress. After all, if Republicans are acting like Democrats, why not just elect Democrats?

Did the Republican leadership learn its lesson?

It sure doesn’t look like it.

Out of all the candidates running for President this year, the only ones declared “viable” by both the Party and the Media were all RINOs - “Republicans In Name Only.” And now, out of the two candidates left running in the race, the “anointed frontrunner” is the greatest RINO of them all -- a man who said eight years ago that he would “entertain” the idea of being Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry’s running mate in the 2000 election!

The conservative base is ready to “sit this one out” too -- unless they can be convinced to support a true conservative ticket.

And the only way for that to happen is if there is at least ONE true conservative ON that ticket!

The Republican Party cannot win the 2008 election unless a true conservative is nominated for Vice President.

RON PAUL IS THAT TRUE CONSERVATIVE.

RON PAUL IS THAT TRUE CONSERVATIVE.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

"Imagine it: Ron Paul playing the same influential role as Dick Cheney has, but in an honest, Constitutional way.”

“Is Ron Paul better off staying in Congress? Let's see... vote after vote of 434-to-1... or President of the Senate, with a bully pulpit, franking privileges, and the tie-breaking vote?”

“This strikes me as a very bad year for any Republican nominee to play it safe. Every trend points towards a Democratic victory. It will take bold, imaginative moves to win the race. The nomination of Ron Paul as VP on a Republican ticket strikes me as just such a move.”
